The crash happened at the overpass between Exit 16B: PA 74 North Queen Street and Exit 15: I-83 BUSINESS - South George Street around 3 p.m., PennDOT officials say.
The trailer the truck was towing was seemingly too tall and became stuck under the bridge and also cracked it, according to PennDOT officials.
The interstate is also closed between the exit for Route 182 - Leader Heights and Exit 16B: Route 74 North - Queen Street.
One person suffered minor injuries in the crash according to emergency dispatch.
It is unclear how long the interstate will be closed.
